Focus Forward to welcome Dr. Ali Rezai
Focus Forward is thrilled to announce that Dr. Ali Rezai, executive director of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, will join University Presidents E. Gordon Gee and Brad D. Smith for a fireside chat to close out this year's conference, scheduled for March 27 at Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place.
ID cards printed onsite at HSC before July 25, 2022 must be replaced to work with new Managed Printing devices
If you work at the Health Sciences Center and have an ID card that was printed at that location before July 25, 2022, you will need to get a new smart card to use the new Managed Printing devices that are being installed in the coming months.
Maintenance window for STAR, related systems will be extended Sunday, March 3
The normal Sunday maintenance window for Banner (STAR) and STAR-related applications will be extended to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 for important updates that require more time than normal.
New version of SOLE Lockdown Browser will be available starting Thursday, Feb. 22
The new version of SOLE Lockdown Browser will be available after 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22. Instructors and students participating in the Health Sciences laptop program are encouraged to upgrade your computers to the new version of the SOLE Lockdown Browser.

The WVU Institute for Community and Rural Health is excited to host WVU Rural Health Day on April 6.
Remote access to apps currently requiring use of HSC VDI will change in the coming months
Between now and Oct. 1, ITS will begin transitioning remote access to certain Health Sciences applications from the current HSC VDI (also called HS View) to new tools that will ensure continued, secure access to the data and services you need.
Discussion panel to explore heart health and health disparities
A Heart Health and Black History Month discussion panel will take place Monday, Feb. 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Mountainlair Gluck Theater. All members of the WVU and local communities are welcome.
Harris to address American Medical Association student organization
Patrice A. Harris, M.D., a West Virginia University School of Medicine alumna, will address the American Medical Association Medical Student Section on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 4:30 p.m. in Erma Byrd 201.
