Remote access to apps currently requiring use of HSC VDI will change in the coming months

Between now and Oct. 1, ITS will begin transitioning remote access to certain Health Sciences applications from the current HSC VDI (also called HS View) to new tools that will ensure continued, secure access to the data and services you need. This change will let ITS retire aging hardware and reduce WVU’s ongoing licensing costs.

No immediate action is required on your part. We will be working with the application owners to test the new access methods. ITS will provide instructions for accessing the application(s) you need once that work has been completed. Most applications will be made accessible via either the HSC Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) (WVU Login required).

Off-campus access to some inactive or low-use applications may be retired as part of this process. Please direct any questions to the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444.
