Discussion panel to explore heart health and health disparities

A Heart Health and Black History Month discussion panel will take place Monday, Feb. 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Mountainlair Gluck Theater. All members of the WVU and local communities are welcome.

The panel will focus on heart health and health disparities among Black and Brown communities. Panelists include Muchi Ditah Chobufo, MD, cardiology fellow in the WVU School of Medicine; Kisstaman Epps, MA, program coordinator for NASA WV Space Grant Consortium; LaMeekiaa Johnson, MSN, instructor in the WVU School of Nursing; Kelly Lemon, MSN, certified nurse midwife and assistant professor in the WVU schools of Medicine and Nursing; Eric Murphy, MA, mental health specialist at the WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities; and Fanica Payne, MSW, online instructor in the WVU School of Social Work.

A Q&A session will take place as part of the event.

This discussion panel is presented by the Eta Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Incorporated, Student National Medical Association, Minority Association of Pre-healthcare Students and Health Sciences & Technology Association Alumni and Ambassadors Association.
