Inserting Links in the Editor
To add a link in the editor, Link specific buttons can be found in the Formatting Tool Bar.
Inserting a Link #
Linking to a Page or URL #
- Select the word or phrase that you want to link.
- Click the Insert/edit link icon.
- You can choose an internal page from the list of pages at the bottom or you can type a URL into the “Link to document” field.
Linking to Media #
- Select the word or phrase that you want to link.
- Click the Insert/edit link icon.
- This will present the Select link box. Under the list of pages (You may have to scroll.), click the Select media button.
- Locate and click on the file that you want to link to, then click Submit.
- Click Submit again to add the link.
Uploading and Linking to Media #
Media pertains to all of the images, PDFs, documents, etc. in the Media Library for your website.
The Media Picker is only used for uploading images in the editor. It cannot be used for uploading or inserting any other media, including PDFs, in the editor.
- Select the word or phrase that you want to link.
- Click the Insert/edit link icon.
- This will present the Select link box. Under the list of pages (You may have to scroll.), click the Select media button.
- This will present a Select media box to the right. Navigate to a folder (if desired) where you want your media file to upload to. (Read more about Media Library Management). Otherwise, move to step 3.
- Click the gray "Upload" button in the top right corner. An “Open” dialog box should appear allowing you to browse your computer for the media file you wish to use. Note: Please reference our Naming Conventions before uploading your file.
- A second box will appear over the Select media, asking for you to choose a media type. If you're uploading any type of file other than an image, click File.
- Locate and click on the file that you want to link to, then click Submit.
- Click Submit again to add the link.
Removing a Link #
- Select the word or phrase that you want to remove the link from.
- Click the Remove link icon.
