Parking

Parking can be complicated but here’s some pointers:

  1. Don't park in visitor parking - this is always the worst option because they have zero tolerance and will tow (I've asked security to start suggesting alternative parking areas rather than following and towing people if they suspect someone is parking illegally).
  2. There is a C10 lot for "true clinical emergencies" so if people are coming in on call for emergencies they can utilize that lot (please note that security do go to efforts to confirm the clinical emergency and may tow if not accurate).
  3. Staff parking is preferable to visitor parking - you can avoid ticketing in staff parking by registering your car on the online platform which is free. Both of these resources are on the GME parking website here.
  4. If parking in the WVU medicine garage or staff parking there is an "app" that shows open parking spaces to keep people from having to drive around to a bunch of places. Remember you must be registered via the online platform to avoid a ticket (free). You can find it here.
  5. If you have a WVU parking tag you can purchase a front "vanity plate" from WVU to enable you to back in or pull through spots. See the article here.
  6. If you have further issues let the CWO know!
