Support dental fraternity philanthropy and have chance at $1,000 prize

Fundraiser for Smile Fund set for March 26

A service fraternity at West Virginia University School of Dentistry will host its annual fundraising dinner March 26, 2022.

Delta Sigma Delta members initiated a philanthropic effort to raise money for the Drs. Graves/Dye/Chaudhry Smile Fund, formerly known as Project Smile. The money assists patients who are in need and undergoing extensive dental treatment. The goal is to help patients avoid ending their treatment plans because of financial burden.

Since the inception of Smile Fund, donors have gifted more than $5,000 to aid in treatment plans.

The fraternity's annual elimination dinner is the largest fundraiser for the Smile Fund. At an elimination dinner, each guest receives a ticket. One by one, tickets are drawn thereby eliminating the holder from winning the $1,000 grand prize. The winner is the last person holding a ticket.

Delta Sigma Delta members are selling tickets for $35 each. A ticket includes the buyer's dinner and a single chance in the elimination game.

The dinner will be held at Morgantown Knights of Columbus, 379 North Parkview Drive. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and drawings begin at 6 p.m.

Throughout the evening, guests can purchase chances to win raffle baskets. Baskets are made up of items donated by businesses and School of Dentistry supporters.

If you are interested in donating an item to raffle or interested in buying a ticket for the dinners, contact DDS student Austin Perdue, Dr. Lora Graves or Dr. Tyler Brown
