Class of 2024 - Allison Moore

Allison Moore is a member of the dental school's Class of 2024,

1) Why did you choose WVU?

Being from West Virginia, attending the WVU School of Dentistry has always been my top choice. In addition, my father graduated from here in 1987 and my brother is currently a D2. Being able to attend the WVU School of Dentistry means a lot to me and I can’t wait to begin my journey there this fall!

2) What is your favorite activity?

Anything that involves the outdoors! I’ve been living on the beach for a good portion of the past year, so I spend most of my free time after work going on bike rides, exercising, watching the sunsets, paddle boarding, and more recently trying to learn how to surf!

3) What is your favorite TV program, movie, and who is your favorite music artist?

TV program: Friends
Movie: The Devil Wears Prada
Music Artist: Chelsea Cutler

4) Who has been your greatest influence in your life, other than a family member, and why?

Outside of family members, I would say that the most influential person in my life would be Dr. Bridget Stevens. She’s a dentist in Charleston, where I’m from. She owns her own practice and shadowing her made me that much more excited to continue on this journey.

5) If you could be anyone, other than yourself, who would that be and why?

While there are many people I admire and look up to, I’m not sure I would choose to be anyone else. I think we can allow these people to help shape who we are, while remaining true to ourselves!

6) What are your biggest worries about coming to the WVU dental school this fall?

Given everything going on right now, my biggest concern is COVID-19 affecting us being able to attend classes in person this fall.

7) How do you deal with stress?

Personally, I’ve found working out to be a great stress reliever! Even if it’s just a short jog, it really makes a huge difference.

8) If you could change the world, what would you do?

If I could do anything to change the world, I would give everyone equal access to a good education and healthcare.
