Recombinase-free Conditional Knock-in Through Alternative Splicing

This project will develop a new simpler tool for conditional modification of proteins and RNA in mice called Splice Tag. Our work will allow researchers to extract proteins, organelles, and RNA from a single cell type in the context of complex tissues and organs that comprise multitudes of different cells.

We expect that Splice Tag will not only forward our research in blinding disease, but its simplicity and utility will find a broad application.
