Connecting Behavioral Science to the COVID-19 Vaccine Demand (CBS-CVD) Network

For over 25 years, the WVPRC has built strong relations to local and state agencies and organizations throughout WV and has garnered a great degree of support, trust, and confidence, along with the infrastructure, experience, management, staffing, and technical capacity to implement the proposed activities, and deliver meaningful outcomes, to enhance COVID-19 vaccine confidence and uptake (VCU). Our network of state and local partners enables our project team to rapidly collect qualitative data from key informants/priority populations to inform our understanding of beliefs (personal risk, assessment on the VCU continuum, trust in providers, processes, and policies, vaccine efficacy by brand, myths), social processes (e.g. national political discourse around COVID-19, how people obtain COVID-19 information/research, issues of health equity), and practical issues (access, digital divide), best practices for targeted messaging, and broad dissemination of evidence-based strategies.
