IHOP to open second location in Morgantown

By April Henry

If you get excited about the annual Pancake Day – which benefits WVU Children's Hospital – then hold on to your old-fashioned maple syrup, or your blueberry or strawberry or butter pecan syrup. Because IHOP is comin' to Evansdale!

According to a WVU news release, IHOP Restaurants announced plans on April 23 to open a new restaurant on the ground floor of WVU's new contemporary, mixed-use residence hall and apartment complex known as University Park.

This fancy new facility is within walking distance of the Health Sciences Center and Ruby Memorial Hospital. That means Morgantown's second IHOP is within walking distance, too. Every day can be pancake day! And since we can all walk, we'll burn some of the calories that come from eating pancakes – and the syrup.

IHOP is slated to open in September 2015, just in time to welcome students back to a new semester. If you're a WVU employee, you can use your Mountaineer Card at the new IHOP because it will accept “Mountie Bountie.” To-go service will also be available.

The new IHOP location will seat about 132 people and be open 24 hours every day for WVU students, the Greater Morgantown community and visitors. Even midnight shifters can have regular Pancake Days ... or Nights! It doesn't matter. Pancakes are delicious any time.
