Epic upgrade scheduled for Saturday

The Epic upgrade (Version 2014) will go live on Saturday, April 25. 

All clinical end-users may review training materials regarding Epic clinical documentation and functionality changes/enhancements by following this link. Also, all Epic users should now have two Epic 2014 icons:

1) Epic PRD is for the new Epic 2014 that will go live Saturday. If you do not have this icon, please call the Customer Service Center at 74357. Clicking on the icon will not take you to the new version of Epic until it goes live.

2) The Epic 2014 playground icon is available for use now. By clicking the icon, you can navigate through Epic 2014 to augment tip sheets and other training, prior to the upgrade go-live.

Attention Providers, Residents, and Advanced Practice Providers: An eLearning module has been created for physicians and advanced practice providers in NetLearning. The CBL reviews the most important topics related to the Epic upgrade. It will allow for navigation between the three sections that providers may need (Inpatient, Outpatient, Beacon) to facilitate easy access to just the pieces that providers need to view. The Stork content is at end of the Inpatient section. 

This module has been assigned to residents and advanced practice providers in NetLearning. It has not been assigned to faculty but is available under the name "Epic Upgrade 2014 – Inpatient and Outpatient Provider."

Downtime Sequence for Saturday:

12:30 p.m.: reminder that Epic will go down at 1 p.m.

12:45 p.m.: second reminder that Epic will go down at 1 p.m.

1-1:30 p.m.: 30 minute Epic downtime to prepare for System Read Only (SRO - is "view only" of Epic)

1:30-4 p.m.: Epic is available in SRO/view only mode.

4:25-4:30 p.m.: five minute Epic "pause" to come up on Epic version 2014 in Production Environment (you will be bumped out of Epic - please do not attempt to access Epic until the "ALL CLEAR" is announced).
