WVU student scores in national research competition
Kayla Hudimac, center, of the WVU School of Dentistry Class of 2016, was presented with a second place award at the national 2015 ADA/DENTSPLY Student Dental Research competition Nov. 7 in Washington, DC. Her presentation was entitled, "Oral Cancer Screenings in an Underserved Community: A Report of Knowledge." Kayla 's advisor on the project was Dr. Ashley Neuman Clark. Also in the photograph are classmates who also worked on the project: Mark Gray, Amanda Torsney, and Holly Sisler, and their course director, Dr. R. Constance Wiener.
The screening project was supported by a grant from Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation that creates opportunities for WVU students in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health to work in interprofessional teams to implement community-based healthcare projects.
