WVU Health Sciences and Statler College to host AI Symposium May 1

West Virginia University Health Sciences and the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will co-host the WVU AI Symposium 2025 on Thursday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Erickson Alumni Center.

With the theme “AI in Action: Navigating Challenges and Opportunities Across Domains,” the event will bring together WVU faculty, students, and invited guests to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in a range of research fields.

The symposium will feature presentations and panel discussions on topics including health care, robotics, and other emerging areas where AI is making a transformative impact. The agenda also includes a keynote address by William Walker, executive director of the National Cyber Defense Center and senior advisor for national security and cyberspace programs in the Office of the President at WVU.

Attendees will have opportunities for networking during poster sessions and breakout discussions focused on AI initiatives at WVU, collaborative projects and community development.
