School of Public Health welcomes full-time teaching instructor for undergraduate programs

John Titilawo joined the School of Public Health on September 29, 2022, as a full-time teaching instructor for the undergraduate programs. As teaching instructor, Professor Titilawo will be teaching introductory and elective courses, including Introduction to Injury Prevention.

Professor Titilawo holds a Master of Science in Athletic Coaching, which he proudly earned from WVU. He is currently completing a Professional Doctorate degree in Health and Wellbeing at the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. Using autoethnography as a research methodology, his thesis title is ‘Voice of a Soccer Coach in Transition: From Athletic Identity to Academic Self - Autoethnographic narrative of injuries and total hip arthroplasty and life after hip replacement.’

In addition to teaching, Professor Titilawo’s previous experience includes serving as soccer coach for three decades including WVU Women’s Soccer Club between 2003 and 2004. He also served as a campus support officer, health educator, Diabetes Community Champion and risk assessor. Professor Titilawo is excited to be back in Morgantown. He looks forward to mentoring students, providing support, and inspiring students from underrepresented groups to pursue challenging courses, and to increase their confidence that they can succeed in their academic goals.
