During their Fall 2022 Retreat, WVU School of Nursing advisors enjoyed a day of team building at Cooper’s Rock State Forest.

Led by Director of Advising & Student Success Julien Nguyen, the team included Cathy Camden, Dedra Cobb, Allie Haught and Brandy Toothman.

The advisors enjoyed mindful walking and breathing exercises, as well as an opportunity to relax in nature. Additionally, the team discussed some short-term and long-term goals for the upcoming year.

Nguyen said the retreat is held every other year, alternating with a NACADA (Global Community for Academic Advising) Conference.

“We just finished peak advising season, so this was a great opportunity for team building, relaxation and setting goals,” Nguyen said. "Our ultimate goal is to take care of ourselves so we can better serve our students."

Nguyen also expressed his gratitude for support from Gregg Cave, Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni Services.
