Dental school alumni board gives instrument awards
The Board of Governors of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry Alumni Association commits to assisting first-year students (one DDS and one Dental Hygiene) with the purchase of instruments after their first two semesters.
The award is based on academic achievement and financial need.
The 2021 recipients are Hunter Wright, a DDS student with the Class of 2024, and Kayley Sisler, a dental hygiene student. The amounts are $500 and $250 respectively.
Wright shared his appreciation writing, “I want to thank Cathy Boyce and the Board of Governors of the WVU School of Dentistry Alumni Association for awarding me with the Student Instrument Award. I’m deeply grateful for your generosity and blessed by your encouragement.”
The BOG shared, “The Board of Governors knows that the future of the Alumni Association rests with today’s students and feel that we, as an association, need to encourage and reward academic excellence in dental training.”
