Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship applications now open

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship applications are now open for the March 2024 deadline.

What is it?

A national scholarship that pays up to $5,000 (or $8,000 for critical languages) towards a study abroad program of your choice.

Who can apply?

Pell eligible undergraduate students in good standing (2.0 GPA).

What type of study abroad does it pay for?

Credit bearing program of your choice. Program destination must be to a country with a Level 1 or 2 Travel Advisory per the U.S. Department of State. WVU Education Abroad can help you find the right program.

When should I apply?

Apply by March 14, 2024, if you are participating in study abroad programs for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, Thanksgiving or Winter Break 2024, or Spring/Spring Break 2025 (May 1, 2024 - April 30, 2025).

For summer 2025 programs, students should apply during the October 2024 cycle.
