Beckley nursing faculty leads presentation during WVU Tech Faculty/Staff Institute

Kelly Morton, clinical assistant professor at the WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus, recently presented at a breakout session during the WVU Tech Faculty/Staff Institute.

During the presentation, Morton shared how the Beckley Campus helps keep nursing students on track through a plan for improvement form and a grade counseling form.

“A plan for improvement may directly contribute to higher retention rates among college students by addressing academic and personal challenges, enhancing engagement, and promoting a sense of belonging,” Morton shared.

“When students receive targeted support, resources, and mentorship to overcome obstacles, they are more likely to feel valued, motivated, and connected to the institution. This may lead to improved satisfaction and a greater likelihood of staying enrolled and successfully completing their degrees.”
