WVU Student Nurses' Association leaders attend NSNA Mid-Year Conference

In attendance at the NSNA Mid-Year Conference were (pictured from left): WVU SNA President Jenna Wermers, Secretary Catherine "Cat" Myers, Community Outreach Coordinator Ateria Walker and Vice President Andrew Johnson.

Several West Virginia University Student Nurses' Association leaders recently attended the National Student Nurses' Association Mid-Year Conference Nov. 10-13 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The conference, with a theme of "Passion and Profession: The Whole Scope of Nursing," allowed attendees an opportunity to explore a variety of nursing specialties and advanced practice options; learn about nursing positions, academic advancement and the latest products and services; prepare to pass the NCLEX; gain leadership skills and opportunities for NSNA involvement; explore healthcare trends and issues that will impact their careers; and much more.

"We were able to do a lot of networking and get some leads on potential resources for both the SNA, as well as the WVU School of Nursing," Myers said.
