Share your story with the WVU CED and help us make a difference!
To the individuals with disabilities, families, students and professionals who have worked with the WVU Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) – we need your voice!
Over the last 47 years, the CED has had the privilege of serving West Virginia’s community of individuals with disabilities, their families, students and professionals through our programs, but we know there’s still much work to be done. One of the most powerful ways we can advocate for better services and support is by sharing your story.
Your experiences matter. Your story can help us document the impact of our services and highlight successes. By sharing your story with us, you’ll help us show legislators, policymakers and the wider community the true impact of what we do and why continued investment in services for people with disabilities is essential.
Why share your story?
- To highlight the strengths and needs of people with disabilities, families, students and professionals.
- To help us push for necessary changes in policy.
- To raise awareness and inspire others in your community.
Every experience is unique and every voice is important. By speaking up, you help us continue to promote better resources, stronger policies and more accessible programs for everyone in the disability community.
Here's how you can contribute:
- Share your personal journey with us – what has your experience with the CED been like?
- Reflect on your experiences or how the CED’s support has made a difference in your life.
- Let us know how our services have helped you.
- If you’re willing, we’d love for you to include a photo of yourself (or you and your family). Pictures are a powerful way to help others truly see and understand the unique and vibrant community we serve. They help bring your story to life and make a lasting impression on those who read it.
You can share your story with us in one of these ways:
- Write it down: Fill out our simple Story Submission Form to share your experience in writing.
- Send a video clip: Record a short video telling your story and send it to us using our Google form.
- Get interviewed: If you’d like to be interviewed to share your story directly, contact us to set up a time that works for you.
If you're willing to share, please use our Story Submission Form. Your story could be the key to unlocking change and building a brighter future for others. We are so grateful for your support and involvement!
If you have any questions or would like to share your story in a different way, please contact Melina Danko at mdanko@hsc.wvu.edu.
Together, we can create lasting impact – one story at a time.
