Schmidt named Chair of Surgery for the WVU School of Medicine
Following a national search, Carl R. Schmidt, MD, FACS, professor of surgery, has been named chair of the West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Surgery, effective July 1.
Cisco Phone service, including Jabber, will be discontinued at the end of summer
The two-year project to move the University's phone service from outdated Cisco hardware to Zoom Phone is now in the final three months. The University’s Cisco Phone service will be disconnected by the end of summer.
WVU researchers seek participants for study examining CBD and driving performance
Researchers at the West Virginia University School of Public Health are seeking volunteers to participate in a study exploring how cannabidiol (CBD) may affect driving performance, cognition and sedation among healthy adults.

SOLE Spotlight: Build an Accessible Course Structure
Faculty should begin reviewing the structure of their course documents, slides, tables and equations as WVU prepares courses and digital materials for updated ADA Title II digital accessibility expectations. Clear structure helps all students navigate content and helps assistive technologies accurately read materials. A good place to begin is the syllabus, followed by the materials students use most often in SOLE.
