Well-being seminar series resumes with discussion on vulnerability, shame
Continuing conversations from the fall semester, the WVU Health Sciences Chancellor’s Office well-being seminar series will resume Tuesday, Feb. 28 at noon via Zoom with a discussion led by Dr. Clay Marsh focusing on vulnerability and shame.
Students invited to School of Public Health's "Figure It Out Friday"
“Figure It Out Friday” is a recurring series of 30-60-minute Zoom conversations for public health students at West Virginia University to help them learn more about current public health issues, career pathways, essential job skills and much more. This month's "Figure It Out Friday" on Feb. 24 will feature a presentation from WVU School of Public Health alumna Krista Farley.
Students invited to the 2023 Delta Omega Academic Poster Workshop
Student honorary society Delta Omega Gamma Mu is hosting an academic poster workshop Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the School of Public Health Conference Room (3301 in HSC South), led by faculty advisor, Dr. Claydon. This is an opportunity to learn about the components of a successful academic poster and receive expert tips and feedback.
Relay for Life of Mon County and WVU looking for volunteers to help raise money for American Cancer Society
The Relay for Life of Mon County and West Virginia University is looking for community members to create teams and volunteer for its annual event on Friday, April 14, from 6 p.m. – midnight at the WVU Shell Building located at 1501 University Avenue in Morgantown.
WVU School of Medicine plans to launch new respiratory therapy program
Respiratory therapists are in high demand, and the West Virginia University School of Medicine is planning to launch a new respiratory therapy bachelor’s degree program in an effort to not only give students career options but also support and grow critical respiratory services throughout West Virginia and beyond.

Reminder: Spring/May 2023 Graduation Application – Now Open!
Students seeking to graduate in May 2023 must submit an Application for Graduation by Friday, March 10. Students defending a thesis or dissertation are asked to schedule their defense on or before April 14.
Under the Dome: February 10, 2023 Edition
“Under the Dome” delivers a review of issues members of the West Virginia Legislature are considering. It provides information on matters that affect WVU and higher education, as well as other hot topics being addressed that impact the Mountain State and its citizens.
WVU School of Public Health to host informational sessions on population health program
The West Virginia University School of Public Health will host two informational sessions about its online M.S. in Population Health program on Thursday, March 2, and (via Zoom) Tuesday, March 7.
Network maintenance scheduled for HSC-North
HSC Information Technology Services will complete maintenance on the Health Sciences Center network per the following schedule. During the maintenance windows, outages are planned on Feb. 17 and Feb. 24 affecting 2nd floor HSC-North and 1st floor HSC-North, respectively.
