Oleh Bodilovskyi is the first student from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTUU “KPI”) to visit the WVU Health Sciences Center through the memorandum of understanding between the two universities that took effect this January.

WVU School of Medicine mourns the loss of faculty pioneer
The West Virginia University community joined the School of Medicine in mourning the loss of a faculty pioneer, Dr. Bill Fleming. Fleming, and his wife Dolores, died Wednesday, April 29 at their home in Tionesta, Pa. According to a news report, they were the victims of a carbon monoxide accident.

Marsh appoints Coben to HSC leadership team
Jeff Coben, M.D., has been named associate vice president for clinical innovations, planning and operations. He will report to Clay Marsh, M.D., vice president and executive dean of health sciences, and serve on his leadership team.
NIOSH/ WVU partnership mentors southern West Virginia high school students
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the West Virginia University Health Sciences and Technology Academy (HSTA) have teamed up in Morgantown to help students at Shady Spring High School HSTA Club (near Beckley, W.Va.) develop research projects in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.
WVU Dentistry student awarded Best in Session Award
College students don’t do a very good job of taking care of their teeth and gums. Sawan Prabhu, a fourth-year Doctor of Dental Surgery student in the West Virginia University School of Dentistry, won a Best in Session Award for her research poster presentation on that topic at the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting, the annual meeting for the Hinman Dental Society, held March 26-28 in Atlanta, Ga.
