Quintin Brubaker didn’t always want to be a physician. But he did always want to help people. Brubaker, now a first-year resident in the West Virginia University Department of Family Medicine, began his medical career as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

WVU launched a website dedicated to information about the coronavirus and the University’s response plans, should the virus affect the institution and community.

WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital launches phone number to provide COVID-19 screening

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital has established a phone number for patients to call if they have respiratory or flu-like illness that they believe could be related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Patients can call 304-598-6000, option 4 to speak with a staff member. Sick individuals are urged to stay home. The hospital would like to stress the importance of calling this number before visiting a clinic or the emergency department in order to reduce the likelihood of spreading illness. If you are unsure whether you should be seen, please call your local health department for guidance.

WVU launches website, phone number to provide COVID-19 information

West Virginia University has launched a website dedicated to information about the COVID-19 coronavirus and the University’s response and plans should the disease begin to affect the institution and community. The website is located at http://coronavirus.wvu.edu and includes general information as well as links to more detailed information for specific audiences such as students, faculty, staff and the general community.

WVU in the News: Clay Marsh joins Talkline to discuss coronavirus preparations

WVU Health Sciences Vice President and Executive Dean Clay Marsh, MD was part of a State of Preparedness meeting called by West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice on Wed., March 4. He said during an appearance on MetroNews “Talkline” it’s the responsibility of health leaders to reassure residents there is a response plan.
