WVU HSC celebrates National Postdoc Appreciation Week
Since 2009, the NPA has sponsored National Postdoc Appreciation Day/Week to recognize the significant contributions that postdoctoral scholars make to U.S. research and discovery. WVU HSC will be celebrating the HSC Postdocs on Thursday, September 19th, Noon-1:00 PM, in the hallway behind the Pylons lobby. Everyone is welcome to stop by for scientific posters, pizza and cake.

WVU College of Law hosting climate change public health workshop
The WVU College of Law will host "Climate Change and Public Health: Addressing the Growing Crisis" on Sept. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College of Law Event Hall. Keynote speaker is Bernard Goldstein, University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. WVU speakers are professors Robert Duval of the School of Public Health and Nicolas Zegreof the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design.

West Virginia University Health Sciences behavioral and biomedical sciences (BBS) predoctoral training program was recently awarded a five-year, $1.9 million grant to prepare behavioral scientists for leadership roles related to the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs.
WV AWARE workshop to be held Nov. 1
WV AWARE (Asking Women About Relationship Experiences) will host a collaborative workshop on Friday, November 1, at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, W.Va. Check in begins at 11 a.m. and the workshop will take place from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch and compensation for time/travel will be provided.

The School of Public Health will welcome international speaker and bestselling author, Gilbert “Gil” Singletary, PhD, JD, to campus as part of 2019 Diversity Week. All WVU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
