WVU public health honorary society recognized nationally for outstanding service, scholarship and outreach
As the needs of the community increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, West Virginia University’s Gamma Mu Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health met the charge of its mission to promote excellence in contributing to the field of public health and advancing the health of people in every aspect, earning the Chapter of the Year award for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Department of Ophthalmology welcomes new ocular immunologist Grace Levy-Clarke
Grace Levy-Clarke, M.D., joins the West Virginia University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences as an associate professor and the director of the uveitis and ocular immunology service.
Veterans can request an appointment for Veteran Oral Health Day
A limited number of appointments will be available at Veteran Oral Health Day on Friday, November 12, 2021. Veterans and active National Guard and Reserve members will receive free dental screenings, x-rays as necessary, cleaning, simple fillings and other urgent care needs based on the determination of the faculty and student dental and dental hygiene providers.

WVU to receive $2.7 million from NIH to study how the brain heals from stroke and impact of aging
Candie Brown, a researcher with the WVU School of Medicine and Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, is exploring the role that a specific enzyme plays in protecting the brain from stroke and the effects of aging. The National Institute on Aging is awarding WVU $2,687,415 for the five-year project.
