Petros to step down as dean of the School of Pharmacy
William Petros, Pharm.D., FCCP, Gates Wigner Dean of the WVU School of Pharmacy, announced his intention to retire and conclude his tenure as dean by the end of the 2026-2027 academic year, or as soon as the position is filled.

Schmidt named Chair of Surgery for the WVU School of Medicine
Following a national search, Carl R. Schmidt, MD, FACS, professor of surgery, has been named chair of the West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Surgery, effective July 1.
Cisco Phone service, including Jabber, will be discontinued at the end of summer
The two-year project to move the University's phone service from outdated Cisco hardware to Zoom Phone is now in the final three months. The University’s Cisco Phone service will be disconnected by the end of summer.
