WVU School of Nursing, Suncrest United Methodist Church to collaborate for Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month
The WVU School of Nursing and Suncrest United Methodist Church are hosting a Zoom educational session for Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. The Zoom session will be held Sept. 18, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature guest speakers who will discuss suicide warning signs and what to do. The virtual event is open to anyone who would like to attend.
Rural Undergraduate Shadowing in Healthcare program application now open
Are you an undergraduate student interested in a healthcare career serving in a rural community? Thinking about medical, dental or nursing school? The WVU Institute for Community and Rural Health RUSH program is a great introduction to practicing in rural communities. The application is open through October 11, 2024.

The WVU School of Nursing Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Brad Phillips, has been selected as a WVU Bridge Faculty Fellow.
Hollander named interim chair of Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology
John Hollander, Ph.D., senior advisor for research development in the Office of Research and Graduate Education, will serve as interim chair of the Department of Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, effective Sept. 1.
Nomination deadline extended for annual Wilks Award for Excellence in Simulation
The nomination period has been extended for the annual David H. Wilks Award for Excellence in Simulation. Named in honor of the late Dr. David Wilks, the award acknowledges the dedication of faculty who set high standards in teaching and learning at the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety (STEPS).
