WVU in the News: ASPPH welcomes 2021 summer interns
Damaris Bell, MPH, a recent graduate of West Virginia University School of Public Health, has joined ASPPH as our first Racial Justice Intern. She will be gathering and organizing resources, products, curricula, and tools related to the Racial Justice efforts of ASPPH members. The materials will showcase promising practices and exemplars developed at our member institutions to defeat racism and structural racism. Following the internship, Damaris plans to attend medical school and specialize in Pediatric Psychiatry.

As of Wednesday, there were 78 large wildfires actively burning in 13 states, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. Natural Resources Canada shows more than 600 active fires as of July 14.
Monongalia County QRT seeks volunteers, donations for Save a Life Day
On Save a Life Day on Saturday, Sept. 25, members of the Monongalia County Quick Response Team (QRT) will be teaching naloxone administration to anyone interested. They will also give away free applications of the medication, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.
