West Virginia Board of Pharmacy is seeking epidemiologist to join data analytics team
The West Virginia Board of Pharmacy is seeking an epidemiologist to join their data analytics team. This epidemiologist will be responsible for analytic and surveillance activities using data from the Controlled Substance Monitoring Program (CSMP). The ideal candidate must have excellent data analytic skills, particularly in SAS, R and SQL. This position works closely with the Violence and Injury Prevention Program within the State Health Department and will require strong oral and written communication skills as well. Occupational Medicine resident completes international rotation in Central Asia to learn about healthcare infrastructure development
A West Virginia University School of Public Health Occupational Medicine resident, Ryan Budwany, MD, recently completed a month-long rotation in Tajikistan with Medical Diplomats International, a nonprofit organization. Since 2008, this organization has been helping to improve access to healthcare in the isolated mountain regions of the world. The core of its mission is to engage local resources, embrace diverse cultures and heal through medical outreach.

WVU in the News: COVID-19 surge continues to rage in WV with "tragic" consequences
Hospitalizations are tracking toward a pandemic peak, with 816 people hospitalized Friday compared to a previous high of 818 on Jan. 5. As of this writing, 250 patients were in intensive care and 151 were on a ventilator, shattering previous highs in both categories from the first week of January.
