The one-day conference, which begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, will provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary updates on advances in lung cancer from screening to diagnosis and through survivorship.

The plenary sessions will feature two nationally recognized speakers – Jamie Studts, Ph.D., professor and co-leader of Cancer Prevention and Control at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, and Raymond U. Osarogiagbon, M.D., M.B.B.S., F.A.C.P., chief scientist at the Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation and director of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program at Baptist Cancer Center in Memphis – covering the importance of patient-centered care and the role stigma plays across the lung cancer continuum.

The agenda also includes the latest information on lung cancer research efforts. Two panel sessions will give the audience an opportunity for robust discussion and will feature national and local experts covering a variety of topics.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour WVU Cancer Institute’s Mobile Lung Cancer Screening Unit (LUCAS). LUCAS, the first of its kind in the nation, serves West Virginians from throughout the state without immediate access to lung cancer screening. LUCAS builds upon the successful operations and infrastructure associated with Bonnie’s Bus, the Institute’s mobile mammography unit.

The conference is free of charge thanks to support from the WVU Cancer Institute, lung cancer specific donations, and grant funding. To learn more and register to attend, visit WVUCancer.org/LuCaConf23. The registration deadline is July 3.
