Fairmont Medical Center sponsors high school football games to honor healthcare workers, first responders

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – High school football rivalries in Marion County will take on a new meaning as WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center will support local high schools by recognizing the tireless efforts of healthcare workers and first responders at three upcoming football matchups.  Mock ups of the T-shirts

Fairmont Medical Center will showcase a banner at each game and will sell special game day T-shirts created in each school’s color with the school logo. All proceeds from the T-shirt sales will go back to the individual schools, as a donation to continue to provide transportation, uniforms, food, and other necessities to the scholastic athletes across all sports. The cost is $15 per shirt.

Aaron Yanuzo, chief operating officer at Fairmont Medical Center, said the three-football game sponsorships are special ways to pay homage to healthcare workers and first responders, while supporting high school athletic programs.

“Sponsoring events like these to say thank you to all our healthcare workers and first responders and to support all three Marion County Schools will be an exciting opportunity for us this year versus a traditional advertisement in a program,” he said.

The three games and dates are:

  • East Fairmont vs. North Marion at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24
  • North Marion vs. Fairmont Senior at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29
  • Fairmont Senior vs. East Fairmont at 7 p.m. on Nov. 3

There will be approximately 50 North Marion and 50 East Fairmont T-shirts available at the Aug. 24 game. The shirts for the next two games will be pre-order/pre-pay.

Those wishing to order a shirt can contact Jennifer Villers at North Marion High School at 304-986-3063; MaryLynn Westphall at East Fairmont High School at 304-367-2140; and Jim Greene at Fairmont Senior High School at 304-367-2150.
