WVU family nurse practitioner graduates celebrate 96% first-time pass rate
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — For the 2024 Family Nurse Practitioner Certification examinations, West Virginia University School of Nursing graduates have received an overall 96% first-time pass rate.
These graduates include the Master of Science in Nursing – FNP program, as well as the FNP Post-Graduate Certificate program. Their exams are administered by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the results are reported by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
“Whether at the undergraduate or graduate level, the WVU School of Nursing prides itself on academic excellence,” said Dr. Tara Hulsey, Dean and E. Jane Martin Endowed Professor. “These pass rates are a testament to the expertise of our faculty and the dedication of our students. Thanks to their efforts, our newest family nurse practitioners will be able to provide care where it is needed most.”
Graduates of the FNP programs are prepared to offer care at the advanced practice level to a variety of populations and settings. They can carry out all activities encompassed in the scope of an advanced practice FNP.
“Family nurse practitioners are an essential part of providing and improving healthcare to a diverse patient population,” said Dr. Stacy Huber, Associate Dean of Curriculum. “Thanks to Dean Hulsey’s leadership, our program director, and dedicated faculty, we are able to provide high-quality pathways to advance practice.”
