Don't miss today's Employee Appreciation Picnic

Get ready to STOMP, CHOMP, and ROAR at the 2022 Employee Appreciation Picnic! In celebration of our “Dino-mite” employees, this year’s theme is none other than “Jurassic Park.”

The night-shift event will begin Tuesday, July 26, at 10:30 p.m. and end at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27. The day-shift event will take place from 10:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.on July 27. Both events will be held on the West Concourse of Milan Puskar Stadium.

Executive leadership encourages all supervisors to ensure coverage of their areas by increasing staffing on the days of the event so everyone has a chance to enjoy the picnic.

Both the day- and night-shift events will include entertainment, games, activities, and a delicious selection of food, drinks, and concessions. As always, there will be a separate food line for individuals who have dietary restrictions. Make sure to check out the department tables, games, photo booth, and the prehistoric concessions. 

Employees are reminded to present their ID badge for admission to the picnic.

Please keep in mind that admittance is limited to WVU Medicine employees (WVUH and UHA) and is only permitted once per person.

Picnic dress code

In true picnic style, it is time to bust out your blue jeans and your WVU Medicine spirit!

To add to the fun, WVUH Executive Leadership encourages all employees to dress down (if able to) for the picnic. Staff are permitted to wear their blue and gold attire, as well as jeans.

Dress and appearance must remain professional and appropriate; torn/ripped jeans or clothing not permitted.

Reminder: The amended dress code applies to the picnic location only.

Shuttle information

  • Shuttles will run back and forth between the picnic location and the Ruby employee shuttle area for the duration of the event.
  • Extra shuttles will run back and forth between the picnic location and the Operations Support Center (OSC) for the duration of the day-shift event.
  • Parking will be available in the Willowdale parking garage and/or Mountaineer II employee parking garage.

Autographs and photo opps with WVU student-athletes

Around 20 athletes from various WVU sports teams will be onsite throughout the picnic to take pictures and sign autographs. Employees are encouraged to bring WVU memorabilia to get signed (limit two items per employee). View the list and schedule of the student-athletes.

Prize giveaways

For your convenience, there will be a station set up at the onsite event to make prize selections. In addition, entry for the prize giveaway is available to every WVUH/UHA employee electronically. These instructions will help you with the process.

The link will only be active during the week of the main employee picnic:

  • Entry starts: (8 a.m.) Monday, July 25
  • Ends: (Midnight) Sunday, July 31

Prize entry Reminders:

  • Each employee will have five opportunities to select a desired prize.
  • The same prize can be selected more than once to increase chances of winning.
  • Selections may be changed at any time before you click “submit.” Once submitted, the submission has been counted and cannot be changed.
  • No early or late entries will be accepted.
  • Clicking on the link prior to entry availability will result in an error page.

An electronic catalogue is available! The catalogue has pictures and details on all of the prizes available. Make sure to give it a look before you make your final selections!

Prize winners will be selected and announced by end of the following week (Aug. 1-5). Winners will be contacted directly and given specific instructions on prize pickup. Winners will be expected to pick up their prize; no prizes will be mailed or delivered. Those items that have multiple variations available will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
