Pharmacy graduate students win national competition, earn exposure for WVU in health research and data science
PhD students Jayesh Patel, Nazneen Shaikh and Rowida Mohamed, all from the School's Health and Outcomes Research Program, are the winners of this year’s Health Services Research Projects in Progress (HSRProj) team competition for students. The competition is sponsored by AcademyHealth and the National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The annual competition invites students to use data from the HSRPRoj database in conjunction with other sources to identify research gaps in health services and systems research.
WVU pharmacy professor chosen as academic leadership fellow
A program designed to develop the nation’s most promising pharmacy educators to become future leaders in pharmacy and higher education will soon include an additional faculty from West Virginia University.
Dr. Art Jacknowitz HSC Memorial Service and Reception
A memorial service for Dr. Art Jacknowitz, professor emeritus in the WVU School of Pharmacy and friend and mentor to many in the WVU Community, will be held on June 7 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., in the HSC Pathology Amphitheater, Room 2118. A reception will immediately follow in the HSC Pylons from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Student pharmacists visiting from Oman share WV experience
Four student pharmacists from Oman: Rohan, Pasent, Gehad and Dalia wrapped up their rotations at the WVU School of Pharmacy last week. Before they left to go home, they shared with faculty and staff what they had learned about pharmacy in the US. SoP Scholarship and Awards ceremony
The School held its annual Scholarship and Award ceremony last Friday in the Okey Patteson Auditorium. Students, donors faculty and guests gathered in the Pylons for a reception prior to the ceremony. One hundred twenty-seven students earned scholarships and awards this year totaling $162,800.
