I first started when I was 21 as a nutrition major, but I got to a point where I didn’t feel like I wanted to be a registered dietician anymore, so I decided to drop out and go back to the drawing board. I went back to working retail as a full-time manager, and after a while I thought, “Hey, WVU has an exercise physiology program—that might be worth looking into.” And so I did. While researching what I could do with the degree, I was thinking that this would be a cool stepping stone to get my feet wet in medicine for PA school. I came back to WVU at 25, which was just over two years ago.
Meet our grads: Quintin Brubaker
While I was working in EMS in rural communities in Virginia, I really recognized how much healthcare and primary care needs were being unmet, and I wanted to help the people in those communities stay well, rather than be the emergency responder who shows up when things have already gone wrong.

Categories ranged from Most Likely to Drop Their Phone in the Toilet to Most Likely to Survive "The Hunger Games."

She loved her orthodontia treatment as a child. Yes. Loved it. Angela Pelehac said an improved smile boosted her confidence. She hopes to have the same impact on others.
WVU researcher studies bystander behavior in sexual-assault prevention
Carry your keys. Pretend you’re on the phone. Don’t go out alone after dark. People—especially girls and women—receive advice like this every day from friends and family members concerned for their safety. But what if sexual-violence prevention focused less on what potential victims do and more on what potential bystanders do?
Meet our grads: Seth Burk
I chose the West Virginia University nursing program partially because when I stepped on campus when I was a junior in high school, I feel in love with the school, with the pride of the school. The gold and blue is contagious. The guy who gave me the tour told me he didn't even walk in his graduation ceremony. Instead, he spent his time in New Zealand. I was like, "Oh, that's pretty cool."
