Alumni donation helps fund STEPS purchase of virtual dissection table
A recent donation by West Virginia University alumni Dr. John Mikita and his wife has helped the WV STEPS Center purchase an Anatomage Table, a virtual dissection tool.
From volunteer to employee, Seth Huggins continues to spread WVU values
Seth Huggins started volunteering at the West Virginia University Rack Food Pantry in 2017, and has been a positive inspiration to his peers ever since, making the pantry a welcoming and judgement free place for those who use it.

The Office of Research and Graduate Education (OR&GE) is pleased to announce the realignment of Pre-Award grants administration services provided within the Health Sciences Center. This realignment is coincident with Valerie Lemasters transitioning to a part-time status on July 1st. Val has served as the Director for Pre-Award services at the HSC for the past 30+ years. We are beyond grateful to Val for her years of dedication and direct leadership behind building the strong support system we have in place for pre-award services at the HSC.

WVU School of Nursing receives 10-year accreditation
The West Virginia University School of Nursing today announced that its baccalaureate degree, master’s degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and post-graduate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certificate programs have been granted accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for another 10 years.

The WVU School of Public Health's Office of Health Services Research is partnering with Stephenie Kennedy-Rea, Ed.D., and the WVU Cancer Institute in a new, five-year effort funded by the National Cancer Institute to reduce health disparities in cervical cancer in Appalachia.

WVU Public Health researcher launches resource website dedicated to pregnancy and eating disorders
For many women with a current or previous eating disorder, pregnancy can sometimes exacerbate their unhealthy relationship with food. A web-based resource inspired through a recent qualitative study conducted by Assistant Professor Elizabeth Claydon at the WVU School of Public Health is now available to patients and their clinicians and loved ones to help navigate this complex issue.

We want to know about the handmade art and crafts that WVU health professionals are making! Any part- or full-time Health Sciences staff, faculty or students may submit ready-to-display craftwork of any media or theme for this exhibition. All levels will be considered.
