Gee addresses mental health challenges facing campus communities as WVU’s Board of Governors resumes in-person meetings
Members of the West Virginia University Board of Governors met in person at the Erickson Alumni Center for the first time since the pandemic began more than a year ago. A virtual meeting option was available for those unable to be in Morgantown. President Gordon Gee took the opportunity to talk about the challenges the pandemic created and amplified, most critically, mental health.
Health Sciences remembers Dr. David Wilks
David Hunt Wilks, MD, 70, of Dilliner, PA, passed away April 14, 2021, following a lengthy illness. Wilks was an associate professor at WVU's School of Medicine and former assistant dean for technology in medical education and medical director of the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety (STEPS).

Torke of Indiana State University's School of Medicine will speak as part of the Medicine Grand Rounds on Friday, Apr. 30, at 8 a.m. This presentation titled "Religion and Spirituality in Life-Threatening Illness: Ethical Issues" will take place over Zoom. Dr. Carmen Burrell named recipient of ACHA's Ollie B. Moten Award
The American College Health Association’s Awards Advisory Committee has selected West Virginia University School of Medicine's Carmen Burrell, DO, as the recipient of the Ollie B. Moten Award for the 2021 Program.
