Research Day Medicine Grand Rounds hosts Dr. Edmond
Dr. Michael Edmond will speak as part of the Research Day Medicine Grand Rounds on Friday, May 7, at 8 a.m. This presentation titled "Finding Patterns in Chaos" will take place over Zoom and in-person in the Fukushima Auditorium, Room 1901. Limited scholarships available for dental school tobacco treatment training program
To qualify for a scholarship, applicants must be a member of Mountains of Hope. Memberships is free. Applicants can obtain membership online and also apply for the scholarship online.
Epic users asked to participate in survey to help produce improvements
WVU Medicine Epic users are asked to take the KLAS Arch Collaborative Survey, which has been used by more than 240 healthcare organizations to measure satisfaction related to the electronic medical record. WVU Medicine Epic users completed this survey for the first time in 2018,and results and comments from the survey helped WVU Medicine's Epic Training Team target improvements to training and ongoing support infrastructure. Users' feedback will help determine priorities for Epic functionality enhancements throughout the system.

Uniontown Hospital ED Collaborates With Ruby on Simulated Training Course on Central Line Insertion
Last week, more than a dozen members of the WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital Emergency Department, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinicians, underwent a four-hour simulated training course on central line insertion. The training was a collaborative effort between Paul Beck, MD, interim medical director of the Emergency Department, and Christopher Kiefer, MD, associate professor of emergency medicine, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Epidemiology course added to summer offerings
Infectious Diseases Epidemiology (EPID 793A) has been added to the 2021 summer course schedule. The three-credit course will be taught online by Research Assistant Professor Brian Hendricks, PhD, on Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 1:50 p.m. Seats are limited. Enroll using CRN: 52828.

PCPS issues reminder on required documentation for confirming orders
This is a reminder that when submitting a Confirming Order form in Mountaineer Marketplace a quote or agreement needs to be included along with the invoice. In the event a quote or agreement was not obtained prior to the purchase, the department will need to request this documentation from the supplier prior to submission in Mountaineer Marketplace. Confirming orders should be avoided at all costs and should be replaced by contractual payments and blanket Purchase Orders going forward.
