Students experience post-incarceration life through Reentry Simulation
The United States has one of the highest recidivism rates in the world, with more than 75% of prisoners being rearrested within five years of release. This was a fact shared by Ashley Lough on Tuesday evening during a Reentry Simulation event, sponsored by the WVU Honors College and Honors College Living-Learning Community, WVU School of Public Health and the WVU Reed College of Media Martin Hall Agency.
Kelley appointed as reviewer for two editorial boards
Professor George A. Kelley, DA, FACSM, has been appointed as a statistical reviewer for Clinical Rheumatology as well as Exercise Physiology (specialty section of Frontiers in Physiology and Frontiers in Sports and Active Living). In these roles, he will serve as a primary reviewer for systematic reviews with and without meta-analysis.
The Market at Health Sciences to close seating areas at 4 p.m. daily
In an effort to create a safe, secure and quality experience for students, faculty and staff, The Market at Health Sciences will begin closing the main dining/seating areas after daily operating hours effective Thursday, Nov. 4. Due to ongoing staffing challenges and security issues, The Market’s entry and exit doors will be locked daily at 4 p.m. Access to general seating areas will be restricted after 4 p.m.

Every Thursday afternoon for the past two years, dozens of people made their weekly pilgrimage to a nondescript meeting room at the Mercer County Health Department. There, behind a set of double doors, county health professionals ran the area’s only needle exchange — offering disease testing, counseling and clean needles to stop the spread of infectious diseases among people who use drugs.
