All faculty are invited to attend the WVU Health Sciences Faculty Development Program presentation “Generational Learning and Teaching Challenges” on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from noon to 1:00 p.m.
VPN login will be required for remote access to Argos after Sunday
Starting noon Sunday, April 10, WVU employees will be required to use the Virtual Private Network to access the Argos (STAR Reporting) tool when working off-campus. The location of the link is also changing and will appear in the Restricted Apps section of the WVU Portal.
WVU Faculty and Staff Assistance Program to hold Mental Health First Aid Training
The WVU Faculty and Staff Assistance Program will hold two free virtual Mental Health and First Aid Trainings for WVU employees. The training will be split into two sessions April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon and April 28 from 2-5 p.m. You must attend both three-hour sessions to participate in the training.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners support patients in their lowest moments
To show support of this work, the 6th Annual Champagne for SANEs event will be held Thursday, April 28 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Table 9, located at 40 Donley St. in Morgantown. Attendees can enjoy delicious dinner specials and signature cocktails while bidding on auction items and learning about the cause.

WVU Charleston professor named “Power Player” by Becker’s Hospital Review
West Virginia University School of Medicine professor Ali F. AbuRahma, M.D., has been named one of “5 Cardiology Power Players” by Becker’s Hospital Review in a recent news release. Dr. AbuRahma is professor of surgery, chief of vascular and endovascular surgery and director of the vascular surgery fellowship and integrated residency programs at the WVU Health Sciences Charleston Campus in Charleston, W.Va.
The Rack II set to reopen at HSC
The Rack II @ HSC, the WVU Health Sciences campus food pantry, will soon reopen to assist with campus-wide efforts to address the growing population of homeless and/or hungry employees and students.
Reminder: Scholarships available for upcoming tobacco treatment training program
Professionals in the fields of medicine, dentistry, social work, pharmacy, nursing and public health will present evidence-based strategies to enable attendees to effectively assist their patients/clients/ communities with tobacco cessation.
HIV workforce development opportunity
All third and fourth year students enrolled in WVU Health Sciences academic programs are invited to participate in a virtual volunteer opportunity in HIV workforce development. After completion, participants will receive a $10 gift card to Chick-fil-A or Starbucks and two hours of community service with a certificate.

As we are soon to finish another semester, we are taking stock of our efforts around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Importantly, we want to be sure we are creating an inclusive environment for doing this work where all of those interested feel welcome to participate.
