WVU students, faculty and staff now have free access to Kognito, an online training program that teaches skills for communicating with others about mental health concerns and motivating them to seek help when needed.
National Public Health Week Food Drive
The School of Public Health is hosting a food drive for National Public Health Week. Donations will be accepted until April 8, 2022.
WV Health Care Decisions Act undergoes major revisions
For the first time in 20 years, the West Virginia Health Care Decisions Act has undergone a major revision. The new version of the WV Health Care Decisions Act (SB 470) becomes effective June 7, 2022 and requires all healthcare facilities to update the forms they provide to patients no later than January 1, 2023.

The School of Public Health will host a Year-End Celebration on Thursday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The overall purpose of this one-of-a-kind event is to gather together as a Public Health community to honor and reflect upon the many accomplishments of our faculty, staff and distinguished graduating students. WVU student leaders help launch initiative to create greater visibility for student mental health
West Virginia University student leaders have joined the Advisory Council of Students, which is composed of student government representatives from each of West Virginia’s public colleges and universities, in launching the West Virginia Green Bandana Initiative to shine a brighter light on student mental health.

The West Virginia University Peer Advocate program invites the campus and local community to participate in a week of events in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, April 4-8, in the Health Sciences Center Pylons Lobby.

As part of National Public Health Week, Dr. Noelle Chaddock, director of culture and equity with the Community Education Group, will present "Racism: A Public Health Crisis" on Monday, April 4 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. via Zoom.

During the first full week of April each year, the American Public Health Association brings together communities across the United States to observe National Public Health Week as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation's health. This year's theme is "Public Health is Where You Are."
