WVU dental hygiene students advocate for patients and oral health policy
West Virginia University School of Dentistry dental hygiene seniors embraced their roles as oral health ambassadors during a visit with legislators at the state capitol in Charleston, West Virginia. The 4-year dental hygiene degree program prepares graduates for careers not only in the clinic, but also as administrators, educators, researchers and advocates.

Donors have key to unlock extra money for dental school scholarships
On March 20, WVU Day of Giving, Dean Pachuta will kick off donations toward the general scholarship fund with an initial gift of $2,500. Then, for every $5,000 raised up to $15,000, it will unlock an additional $2,500 gift from the dean. Working together, $25,000 could be raised for the general scholarship fund.

WVU School of Dentistry celebrates 30 years of Rural Health Program
Students in the West Virginia University School of Dentistry are learning to be service-oriented practitioners while discovering solutions that reduce oral health disparities in West Virginia. Hands-on experiences such as those in the School’s Rural Rotation, which recently celebrated 30 years of outreach, are not only beneficial for students learning about rural practice, but also the patients they serve.
