Renovated clinics to open at HSC in May and June

Following the completion of Phase I of our extensive renovation and expansion project, the Dr. Peter Ngan Orthodontic Clinic, Pediatric Dentistry Clinic, Dental Innovation Center and Dental Group Practice are scheduled for phased opening at the Health Sciences Center beginning at the end of May.

A designated faculty and/or staff member in each practice area has been in communication with the leadership team about specific information related to the relocation and will share details with the members of their team.

The following is a tentative schedule for a moving service to transport items from Suncrest Towne Centre to the Health Sciences Center:

  • May 21: Pediatric Dentistry
  • May 22: Orthodontics
  • May 26: Dental Group Practice
  • May 27: Dental Innovation Center

The clinics are tentatively scheduled to open at HSC on the following dates:

  • May 26: Pediatric Dentistry
  • May 28: Orthodontics
  • May 28: Dental Group Practice
  • Early June: Dental Innovation Center

Patients will be notified if their appointment will be affected by the relocation.

If needed, any policy or procedure changes will be communicated in the coming weeks by unit leadership.

We look forward to welcoming these patients, residents, faculty and staff to the Health Sciences Center.

Parking at HSC

If needed, all students – dental hygiene, dental and advanced education programs – and state employees – faculty and staff – may purchase a parking permit for the 2026-2027 academic year via WVU Parking Management or another private entity. WVU student parking permits can be purchased online by visiting the Parking Portal. Select “Get Permits” and log in with your WVU credentials. At this time, all permits released for Lot 81 at the Health Sciences Center have been sold. There are other campus lots available. If students are interested in exploring other transportation and parking options, they can visit the Campus Life website for a list of University and private lots and transit services.

State employees may purchase a permit online at any time during the year.

WVU Medicine employees and GME residents (general practice, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry) may park in the WVU Medicine garage and lots for free. To register your license plate, login to the online parking portal.

All faculty and staff – WVU and WVU Medicine – may also utilize the free parking lot and shuttle at the Innovation Corporation located at 781 Chestnut Ridge Road. To gain access, individuals must show their valid WVU or WVU Medicine employee ID at the entrance gate and proceed to the upper parking lot. The shuttle is available from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for holidays, and runs approximately every 15 minutes. Two shuttle stops are available: the main entrance to the Erma Byrd Research Building adjacent to Lot 80 and the front of the HSC near the WVU Dental clinics entrance.

Free parking is available for patients only in the Upper Campus and J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and Physician Office Center lots accessible via Medical Center Drive. Parking ambassadors will be available to assist patients with “car to curb” shuttle service in these lots at arrival and departure by calling 304-598-4444.

Additional short-term, paid parking is available at the Mountaineer Station garage located at 1112 Van Voorhis Road.

Suncrest Towne Centre

The periodontic and prosthodontic clinics will remain at Suncrest Towne Centre until the completion of Phase II of our renovation and expansion. However, the clinics will move from the third floor of the tower (451 Suncrest Towne Centre Drive) to the first floor in the ‘wedge’ in the area currently occupied by Pediatric Dentistry and the Dental Group Practice (453 Suncrest Towne Centre Drive) later this summer to accommodate the lease agreement. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
