New Express Care Unit Opens in Thomas Emergency Department
WVU Medicine Thomas Memorial Hospital recently opened a new 10-bed unit to care for lower-acuity patients in the Emergency Department. The “Express Care” unit will provide expedited care for lower-acuity patients, which will help in managing Emergency Department volumes and wait times. Patients with conditions such as upper respiratory infections, sore throats, isolated extremity injuries, rashes, allergic reactions, and minor cuts and burns will be seen in the Express Care wing.
