Care that echoes through the Mountain State.

Our health priorities are tied to the needs of our citizens. WVU is the state’s only comprehensive academic health sciences center – a place where educators, health professionals and scientists work together to advance human health. We partner with other universities, hospitals and clinics, state and federal agencies, and health organizations across West Virginia to address the issues West Virginians are facing.

  • 3 Health Sciences Campuses: Morgantown, Charleston, and Eastern
  • 4 Nursing Campuses: Morgantown, Charleston,
    Beckley, and Keyser
  • Clinics across 34 counties: Includes Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia
  • 10 hospitals throughout West Virginia

Bonnie’s Bus

Bonnie’s Bus, a program of the WVU Cancer Institute, travels across West Virginia to provide on-the-spot medical care to women that may not have access to adequate breast cancer screening technology in its mobile mammography unit.

In 10 years, it has provided 18,000+ screenings to women and helped diagnose more than 110 instances of cancer.

Improving the health of our communities

West Virginia University was founded on serving the people in West Virginia. That means more than just being in Morgantown – it means being available across the state to help communities when they need it. Through WVU Medicine’s vast healthcare network, WVU’s Extension Office, in rural rotations and health residencies, our students are making a difference to people all across the state.
