Update - NIH Implementation of Uniform Administrative Requirements for Federal Financial Assistance

This Notice updates NIH’s implementation of the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements. Updates made in the 2024 revisions of 2 CFR 200 are now included in the FY26 Grants Policy Statement (GPS) issued March 25, 2026. Under the Consolidated Appropriations Act for FY2026, provisions regarding indirect costs in 45 CFR 75 still apply to NIH awards. Due to this, the flexibilities outlined in Notice NOT-OD-25-059 are rescinded. This includes:
- 2 CFR 200.1 – Modified Total Direct Cost Definition - Calculating Indirect Costs
- 2 CFR 200.414(f) - De Minimis Indirect Rate

This Notice is a reminder the research community that the leniency period for Common Forms for Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support ends on May 7, 2026 which is the final AIDS standard receipt date for Cycle 1. System warnings will continue through the leniency period.
Regarding zero effort on Current and Pending (Other) Support, SciENcv and eRA started allowing zero person months for Proposals/Active Projects and In-Kind Contributions on the Current and Pending (Other) Support Form as of April 22,2026.
Also as of April 22,2026, SciENcv added the Research Security Training (RST) Certification back onto the Common Forms.
NSF – National Science Foundation General Announcements
NSF ENG CBET Early-Career Faculty Workshop
Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Representatives from the U.S. National Science Foundation Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental, and Transport Systems (NSF CBET) Section of the NSF Directorate for Engineering will host an online outreach and networking workshop focused on proposal development for the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (NSF CAREER) program.
The agencywide NSF CAREER program supports early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Activities pursued by early-career faculty should build a firm foundation for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.
The NSF CBET CAREER workshop will include:
- Guidance on CAREER proposal development.
- Overview of the NSF merit review process.
- Breakout sessions with CBET program directors.
- Opportunities to network with NSF staff and peers.

NSF ENG CMMI CAREER Program Webinar

The U. S. National Science Foundation Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) Collaborations for Optimizing Research Ecosystems Research Infrastructure Improvement Program (E-CORE RII) team is hosting virtual office hours to answer questions from researchers and research administrators in NSF EPSCoR jurisdictions, who intend to submit research proposals in response to the E-CORE RII solicitation (NSF 25-523). They are welcome to join this session to engage in Q&A with EPSCoR program officers.

MPS Chemistry Quarterly Office Hours

The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs announces the launch of a new, interactive dashboard that allows users to explore impactful outcomes of CDMRP-funded research. The tool, available on the CDMRP website, features products, technologies and advancements that received regulatory approval, are commercially available, or are available for use by the military.
The dashboard shows how research investments can lead directly to breakthroughs that save and improve lives. The CDMRP designed this tool to offer patients, advocates, researchers and the public a transparent view of the progress made through CDMRP's efforts.
The CDMRP invites all interested parties to explore the dashboard and see the impact of these vital research investments.

Clinical Translation Research Award
- Independent investigators at all academic levels, or equivalent, are eligible to serve as principal investigator on applications to this funding opportunity
- Partnering Principal Investigator Option: The program anticipates offering an early-career or established interdisciplinary PI partnership option to enhance research capacity within the DMD field. This option requires partnership between an independent investigator at any academic level with an early-career investigator or an established interdisciplinary investigator from an area other than muscular dystrophy. Each PI will receive a separate award, even if they are located within the same organization.
