WVU Day of Giving brings in more than $88,000 for Cancer Institute

We did it!  The WVU Cancer Institute far exceeded its goal during the first WVU Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising event to support WVU’s greatest priorities and opportunities. The Cancer Institute goal was to have 100 donors participate to secure a $20,000 match from Cancer Institute leadership. We had 177 donors and raised more than $88,000 for the Cancer Institute.  Additionally, the Cancer Institute received the fourth highest participation university wide, behind Engineering and Mineral Resources, Business and Economics and Education and Human Services, respectively.

WVU hosted three campus events during the inaugural Day of Giving and more than 2,500 gifts were made, totaling nearly $3 million for the entire University.

Thank you and our Cancer Institute leadership for your kind participation and generosity during WVU Day of Giving. Together we will continue to grow, advance cancer care and improve the quality of health and life for West Virginians and others around the world.
