“It has been a great experience joining the team here at Camden Clark Regional Cancer Center,” Dr. Shafi said. “I had family in West Virginia and always enjoyed visiting the state, so I couldn’t miss the opportunity to live and work here.”

Shafi completed her medical training at the Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan before completing an internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein University Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital in New York and a hematology oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Shafi joins Nik Shah, M.D., and Susan Carr, A.R.N.P., to expand the capabilities of the hematology-oncology team. Dr. Shah has served patients in Parkersburg for 40 years, working with administration to establish a strong oncology program. Carr has been with the practice since December 2018.

She will see patients full-time at the Camden Clark Regional Cancer Center.
