David R. Holmes Jr., MD, is first annual Glenn and Ann Hiner Visiting Professor

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to a special Grand Rounds lecture on Monday, Jan. 22, at 8 a.m. in Fukushima Auditorium at the WVU Health Sciences Center.

The speaker for the inaugural lecture is David R. Holmes, MD, of the Mayo Clinic. In his presentation, "To Close or Too Close: LAAO for Stroke Prevention," he will address contemporary issues related to left atrial appendage closure for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation.

Presented by the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, Division of Cardiology, the lecture will kick off a series of presentations by distinguished speakers as part of the Glenn and Ann Hiner Visiting Professor Lectureship.
